Each research article published in Synthēsis is reviewed by at least two independent reviewers, unless it is clearly labelled as editorial or commentary. Editor-authored submissions are assigned to a non-conflicted handling editor, whose identity is recorded.
Reviewer identities are concealed from authors unless open review is explicitly agreed by both parties. Acceptance decisions are made on the basis of methodological soundness, transparency, ethical compliance, and relevance to the journal’s scope — not on expected citation impact.
