Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.- The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
- The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
- Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
- The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
- The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Authors who publish with Insight retain copyright and grant the journal right of first publication under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC-BY 4.0).
This license allows others to:
- Share: Copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format
- Adapt: Remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, even commercially
Under the following terms:
- Attribution: Appropriate credit must be given to the original author(s) and source, with a link to the license and indication if changes were made
Authors are able to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for non-exclusive distribution of the journal's published version of the work (e.g., post it to an institutional repository, publish it in a book), with acknowledgment of its initial publication in Insight.
Authors are permitted and encouraged to post their work online (e.g., in institutional repositories, preprint servers, or on their personal websites) prior to and during the submission process, as this can lead to productive exchanges and earlier and greater citation of published work.
By submitting to Insight, authors confirm:
- The work is original and has not been published elsewhere
- All co-authors have approved the submission
- The work complies with ethical standards for research
- All cited sources are properly attributed
- Supplementary data files are properly anonymized if containing patient information
No article processing charges (APCs) are required. Insight operates as a diamond open access journal, free for both authors and readers.
